Provided the weather is helpful there will be a bonfire and maybe a few fireworks near the chalet from 6.30pm on Tuesday 5th November. All will be informal, with some soup available and the new bar should be open afterwards.

The last week of the season saw one of our best team performances with an 83-45 win at Woodlands.
This was followed by the annual Men vs Women match where the women certainly shone best with a resounding 75-42 win.
The bowls green was then put to bed for the winter with lots of help from the members.

The weekend of 31Aug-1Sep saw the finals for this year’s club tournaments.
It was blessed with good weather – see all the results and photos here .. https://sunbury-sports.bowls-club.co.uk/finals-2019
Sunbury competed in the tri-club Bluewood Cup in August, finishing a creditable 3rd to Woodlands and Fordbridge Park.

After a wet start it turned out to be very enjoyable day of bowls competing for the Presidents Plate.
The round-robin format ensured everyone was involved for the whole day but pizza at lunch time was a welcome boost.
As it coincided with Father’s Day it brought a few extra spectators who saw that the eventual finalists were determined on the very last shot of the day.

Sunday 2nd June saw the early rounds of the Women’s Two Woods championship at Ashford Bowling Club. Sunbury were well represented with all five putting in good performances and one progressing to the latter rounds. An enjoyable time was had by all, including spectators.

Lower Hampton Road will be closed from around 9:30am to 3:30pm due to a large crane lifting a house boat into the river. The entrance to the bowls club should still be accessible but the exit will be blocked off.
Please spread the word as any overrun may impact the club night.

Despite two breaks for rain Sunbury came through to record a 79-42 win in their first competitive match of the season.
