The season ended well for Sunbury with Jen and Nathan winning their SML Mixed Pairs final on Sunday. Fordbridge Park has proved to be a lucky  ground for Sunbury in the last few years in the Bluewood Cup and so it proved for Jen and Nathan too, revisiting the scene of their 2nd-round win. They led early in their match against an experienced Hampton pair and kept ahead throughout, despite dropping a four towards the end. Congratulations to them both .. they have proved to be a real asset for the club over the past couple of seasons.

The South Middlesex competitions start later in the season than the main Middlesex county competitions and may appeal to lots of our bowlers next season. There will be more details on these and also the NW Surrey competitions in due course.

Tuesday’s Club Night marks the end of the bowls season for another year but there’s still plenty of work to be done to close the green and prepare for next year. Also a reminder to sign-up for the Club Dinner and Presentation evening on 21st November and the nomination sheets for positions on the committee are on the noticeboard.
