It’s not always about the winning but it’s welcome to report on some success for Sunbury this week. In county competitions, Andrew, Keith, Colin & Simon delivered a stunning win over a highly experienced Cambridge Park four in the Middlesex Men’s Fours on Tuesday evening, holding their nerve to win on an extra end; Tracy & JenB progressed to the next round of the Middx Women’s Pairs after a nice win at Cambridge Park. We also recorded our first team win of the season – a friendly against Oatlands Park on Wednesday; well done acting captain Sandy and team!
The club competitions have kicked off and is now customary, Tarun was first out of the blocks arranging his games. For the rest of us here are a few pointers.
The first named player, the challenger, is generally responsible for making contact with their opponent and suggesting some dates to play. A marker will also be required if it’s a singles game. The best way to make contact is via WhatsApp – most members are available on the Members group, but please send a direct message only! Once a date/time has been agreed then it’s best to book a rink.
