Early season friendlies

We opened the season with two friendlies – losing both but with encouraging signs for the league season ahead, with most members getting a chance to play in at least one of the matches.

2May     Sunbury v Ember      40-64    lost on all 3 rinks

12May   Sunbury v Walton     62-76    won on 2 rinks; lost on 2

Internal leagues start 10May

The Monday Evening League kicks off at 6pm on 10th May and the Friday Morning Triples starts at 11am on 14th May. Both run for 10 weeks, excluding the bank holidays.

2 Wood Mixed Pairs – Sun 16May

The first of our day-long competitions takes place on Sunday 16th May starting at 10am.

Entries are now welcome so please contact Alan Pilkington or email sunbury4bowls@gmail.com. There is expected to be a £3 entry fee.

Last year’s winners were Bindley Smith & Anita Harvey, seen below receiving the trophy from President, Tom Dowthwaite.

You can book rinks via the website – just click on Book a Rink

There are 4 different views – Day, Month, Grid and List, but you need to select a Day to book by clicking on the time slot.

Initially, it will ask you to register with some basic details including email address.

Please give it a go and ask if you need any help. You will also be able to telephone to arrange bookings – please contact Alan Pilkington for time being.

The bar is open!

The  bar is open from 12 April at the club and will be serving outdoors from 5pm weekdays and from 12 noon at weekends closing  no later than 10pm. Service at tables outdoors observing the rule of six and social distancing. No non-members save for spouses. NHS Track and Trace or signing with tracing address mandatory. Face masks for those using indoor toilets. Bar may be closed at short notice due to weather.
