Our Treasurer Barry has been busy working on a new shirt design and here it is, freshly approved by Middlesex Bowls.

The club shirt currently has two different designs and we are now moving forward to a third one. It creates a more unique club identity for match play and is also an opportunity to change our badge to recognise the sun in Sunbury .. our current badge with crossed shepherd crooks is Shepperton’s emblem!
Prices have been increasing since we last stocked up and the new shirts cost £29 but early orders will receive a discount. Please contact Barry if you wish to order one – he’s happy to discuss sizes (see chart below) and will be at next week’s social. He aims to get an initial order in asap.

PS: Middlesex county have adopted navy blue trousers/shorts and are encouraging us all to embrace the colour at local club and county level. Whites and greys will undoubtedly be around for some time to come but we don’t advise anyone purchasing new white/grey bottoms from now on.

The green received its first cut of the year on Saturday. The slightly depleted green team of Dennis, David and Brian did a grand job .. probably the first of around 50 cuts over the season!
Team Spirit were the winning quiz team at the latest winter social on Tuesday. Congratulations to Alison, Diane, Karen, Rose, David & Cassie, who finished a few points ahead of the chasing pack, all separated by a single point. Gary did another superb job as compere ably assisted by his wife Katie. There was a surprise cake presented to myself and thank goodness everyone had a piece otherwise it’d still be here at Easter!

An evening of great food and bonhomie was had by all at Fulwell Golf Club at the annual presentation of trophies & awards on 18th November. All the winners deserved their night of glory and it was especially rewarding to see some collecting silverware for the first time – congratulations to Pat Fletcher, Colin Edwards, Alison Nabil and Simon Reynolds! Many thanks to everyone involved in organising such a well-polished evening and best wishes to everyone. All the photos from the evening are available here
The annual dinner and presentation of awards is nearly upon us – if coming, please arrive by 6:30pm for a start at 7pm. The dinner, presentation of awards and raffle is expected to take around 3hrs. If you feel able to donate a suitable raffle prize please seek out Eileen or Di on arrival at the club.
